I’m Joseph Northcote. I study mechanical engineering at Penn State, and Northcote Labs is based in State College, Pennsylvania. It began as the tools I built to run my own business: a one-page brief every morning, an outreach agent with a person approving every draft, a dashboard that shows what actually happened yesterday. When the companies I talked to asked for the same things, it became a studio.

I do not charge day rates, I do not lock you in, and I do not put a number in front of you that I have not checked.
The engagement that set the pattern
The engagement that set the pattern was a regional property-restoration company: three offices, most of its work arriving through insurance claims, dozens of paid-search campaigns, a call-tracking platform and a job manager that had never spoken to each other. The owner’s list was plain. We cannot tell what is working. Missed calls go nowhere. Calls are reviewed by ear, one at a time. We designed one loop that connects every click to the job it produced, texts back every missed call, grades every call on arrival and puts a written recommendation in front of the owner once a month, and we are installing it piece by piece, with a done-when check on a real screen before any part counts as finished. Nothing changes in their accounts without sign-off.
